Looking for the Best Vacuum for Pet Hair

If you have a pet in your home, it makes sense to have the best pet vacuum available. Often, we can’t noticeably see the accumulation of pet hair around the house although it is everywhere. That could very well be the case until you use a vacuum built for picking up pet dander and pet hair. Many of these new vacuum cleaners have canisters which you can visibly see the dirt and hair being picked up by the vacuum.

You will be amazed by the cleaning action of these machines. some of the best available pet vacuums are the Kirby Vacuum, Dyson Vacuum, and the Roomba. The technology from all major manufacturers has advanced greatly and some do not even use the tradition vacuum bags associated with many machines. When evaluating these pet vacuum cleaners, look at the attachments and determine if they will be used in your daily or weekly cleaning activities. Some have a dedicated attachment just for removing cat hair and dog hair off furniture. These little attachments like the Pet Turbo Paw are excellent devices and highly recommended.

A major benefit of these vacuum cleaners is the removal of an allergen called pet dander. Pet dander most often caused by cats is the most common. Typically, this dander is microscopic in nature and is caused by dried cat skin which travels through the home and attaches itself to dust mites and other airborne irritants. Individuals sensitive to these irritants will develop allergies which will make a person feel as if they have a cold. A common side effect is the production of histamine which is an inflammatory chemical produced by the body.

Buying a good pet hair vacuum can be one of the most beneficial long term decisions a pet owner can make. The health benefits will out-weigh the costs associated with the vacuum cleaner and you will be much healthier in the long term.

Tips on Choosing an Electric Snow Shovel

Old man winter has arrived and many homeowners and renters are thinking about when the heavy snow will fall. Before the first snow flies, you may want to consider whether to buy a manual snow shovel or a Electrical Snow Shovel.
If you have a small area to shovel, then a simple snow shovel will suffice. You can pick these up at your local hardware store or home improvement store like Home Deport or Lowe’s. The newer snow shovels have curved handles which is designed to take the stress off your back and make the tedious process of snow shoveling easier. You need to ensure you buy a sturdy shovel in the $15-$20 range.
Today, many people are opting for a electric snow shovel. One of the top electric power shovel is the Toro Power Shovel. You will need an extension cord in the appropriate size depending on your needs. Manufacturers make various cold weather extension cords which are more flexible than the traditional models. Many will buy these and use them for patios, decks, and porches. Generally, the reviews have been good for the powered snow shovels.
If you want more versatility, then move up to a snow blower. You can either purchase a snow blower or a more advanced model called a snowthrower. The snowthrower has an impeller to throw the snow much further than a traditional snowblower. Keep in mind, the more advanced snow throwers will cost more than a traditional snowblower. Two of the best models in the industry are the Toro Snowblower and the John Deere Snowblower.
The John Deere Snowblower has a nice reputation in the outdoor industry. When considering which type to buy, it is important to know that the 2 stage snow throwers are big and bulky and take up a much larger space in the garage or storage shed. Many of the more expensive models also come with electric start which is a nice feature especially for older homeowners which will save you a lot of strain. Another feature to look for is whether the snowblower utilizes a 2 cycle or 4 cycle engine. A 4 cycle engine will use much less gas and run much quieter. The machine overall will be a little heavier.
Take your time when deciding which snow tool to purchase this year. Obviously money is going to be a factor so choose wisely and pick the best option depending on your needs and financial impact. Always ensure you are healthy enough to shovel the snow.
